Good Pro Staff alternative
My setup with this is the 315g, .5" extended length with Dunlop Black Widow 18ga @ 45 lbs I want to get this out of the way first: this is not a particularly powerful or comfortable racquet. Between the thin beam and stiffness, and coming from a Blade, it felt like I was hitting with a wooden 2x4. Once you adapt to the low power of this racquet, though, it's a scalpel. Like the Pro Staff, you can put the ball wherever you want on the court, but the Xcalibre is less punishing than the PS if you don't have a perfect contact. One complaint I do have is the feel. On touch shots and volleys, this racquet feels completely average, which was disappointing. I was expecting a bit better from a racquet like this
